REFINE WITH YOUR OWN TISSUE
Enhance one area. Refine another.
Fat transfer breast augmentation uses liposuction to collect fat from another area of the body, processes that fat, and carefully places it within the breast.
The technique is best suited to patients seeking a modest, natural-feeling enhancement rather than a large or precisely predetermined increase. Donor-fat availability, skin quality, breast shape, and fat survival all influence the result.
No breast implant
Enhancement is created with your own tissue rather than a prosthetic device.
Subtle Fullness
Add modest volume and soften contour transitions without a highly augmented look.
Target asymmetry
Place small amounts strategically to address selected volume differences.
Refine a donor area
Liposuction can contour an area such as the abdomen, flanks, or thighs when appropriate.
IS IT RIGHT FOR YOU?
Who may be a good candidate?

Subtle volume goals
Adequate donor fat
You prefer a modest increase rather than the greater volume control provided by an implant.
There is enough accessible fat to harvest without compromising the donor-area contour.
Candidacy can only be determined after a medical history, examination, and discussion of your goals. Smoking or nicotine use, unstable health conditions, and unrealistic expectations may affect whether or when surgery is appropriate.
The strongest candidates want subtle change, have enough donor fat, maintain a stable weight, and understand that some transferred fat will be reabsorbed. Fat transfer does not replace a lift when significant sagging is present.

Stable weight
Realistic expectations
You can maintain a relatively stable weight while the transferred fat establishes its blood supply.
You understand final volume is less predictable and another session may sometimes be considered.
THE THREE PART PROCESS
Harvest. Prepare. Place.
A beautiful fat-transfer result depends on both sides of the procedure: smooth, conservative donor-site contouring and thoughtful placement within the breast.
Liposuction
Fat is collected from a selected donor area based on your anatomy, available volume, and contour goals. The usual accompanying procedure is lipo 360 including the abdomen, waist, and back.
01/ HARVEST
Layered grafting
Small amounts are placed in multiple planes to support shape and give the transferred cells the best opportunity to establish a blood supply.
03/ PLACE
Purification
The harvested tissue is processed so usable fat can be separated and prepared for transfer.
02/ PREPARE
Fat survival
Some volume is expected to decrease as swelling resolves and a portion of transferred fat is reabsorbed; the surviving fat behaves like fat elsewhere in the body.
04/ SETTLE

Breast implants
TYPICAL GOAL
Subtle enhancement and contour refinement
Greater control over size, profile and projection
MATERIAL
Your own purified fat
Saline- or silicone-filled implant
VOLUME PREDICTABILITY
Some transferred fat is reabsorbed; results settle over months
Implant volume is selected before surgery
ADDITIONAL CONTOURING
Includes liposuction of a donor area
Does not require a donor-fat harvest
Subtle volume—not an implant substitute for every goal.
YOUR RECOVERY
Healing happens in stages.
Healing occurs in both the breasts and the liposuction areas. Bruising, swelling, and tenderness vary by donor area, and early breast volume includes swelling that gradually resolves.
DAYS 1-7
WEEKS 1-2
WEEKS 4-6
MONTH 2-3+
Protect both areas
Let swelling improve
Return carefully
Evaluate final volume
Walk gently, follow garment instructions for donor areas, and avoid direct pressure on the breasts.
Light routines often resume as comfort allows. Bruising and swelling continue to change in both the breasts and harvest sites.
Strenuous activity is reintroduced only after Dr. Henry confirms that healing is progressing appropriately.
Swelling resolves and transferred fat stabilizes over time. Final contour is judged after the breasts and donor areas have settled.
