ENHANCE YOUR PROPORTIONS

More than choosing an Implant

Breast augmentation uses an implant to increase fullness, improve shape, restore volume, or address a natural difference between the breasts.

The most natural-looking plan is not built from cup size alone. Dr. Henry evaluates chest width, existing breast tissue, skin quality, nipple position, lifestyle, and your preferred degree of fullness before discussing implant options.

Restore Fullness

Rebuild volume that may have changed after pregnancy, weight loss, or aging.

Increase Projection

Create more forward projection while respecting your chest dimensions.

Improve Balance

Address volume differences and create a more harmonious silhouette.

Define your Aesthetic

Choose a subtle, athletic, rounded, or fuller look through careful planning.

IS IT RIGHT FOR YOU?

Who may be a good candidate?

Volume Loss

Naturally smaller breasts

Discuss your concerns, desired outcome, medical history, lifestyle, and the changes you would—and would not—like to see.

You want a measured increase in size that remains proportionate to your frame.

Candidacy can only be determined after a medical history, examination, and discussion of your goals. Smoking or nicotine use, unstable health conditions, and unrealistic expectations may affect whether or when surgery is appropriate.

Augmentation may be appropriate when the main concern is volume—not significant sagging. A consultation determines whether an implant alone or a lift with augmentation better fits your anatomy.

Shape or asymmetry

Realistic expectations

You want to improve projection, upper-pole contour, or a volume difference.

You understand implants require long-term monitoring and may require future surgery.

THE DESIGN DECISIONS

Four Choices. One Cohesive Result.

Implant planning works best when every choice supports the same aesthetic goal. Dr. Henry guides you through the decisions rather than asking you to select an implant from numbers alone.

Size and Profile

Sizes can range from small (around 200cc) to large (over 800cc), allowing for personalized enhancement based on individual body proportions and desired aesthetics.

Factors such as the patient's height, weight, existing breast tissue, and lifestyle should be taken into account when selecting the appropriate size to ensure a balanced and natural appearance.

01/ DIMENSIONS

Implant Placement

Above-the-muscle placement positions the implant beneath the breast tissue but over the chest muscle. Recovery is often easier, but patients with less natural breast tissue may have more visible rippling or implant edges.

Below-the-muscle placement positions all or part of the implant beneath the chest muscle, providing more tissue coverage. It can create a natural contour and reduce visible rippling, but early recovery may involve more discomfort.

03/ POCKET

Saline vs. Silicone

Saline implants are filled with sterile saltwater and are placed empty before being filled during surgery, allowing the size to be adjusted. They usually feel firmer than silicone implants, but a rupture is easy to detect because the implant visibly deflates.

Silicone implants come pre-filled with a gel that generally feels softer and more like natural breast tissue. Because a rupture may not cause visible deflation, periodic imaging may be recommended to monitor the implant.

02/ FILL

Incision Location

An inframammary incision is placed in the crease beneath the breast, where the resulting scar is usually well concealed. It provides direct access for precise placement of both saline and silicone implants.

A periareolar incision is made along the lower border of the areola, allowing the scar to blend with the natural color transition. It provides good access for implant placement but may increase the risk of changes in nipple sensation or breastfeeding.

04/ ACCESS

Decision point

Saline

Silicone

FEEL

Can feel firmer depending on tissue coverage

Often selected for a softer, more tissue-like feel

SIZING

Filled after insertion, allowing limited intraoperative adjustment

Pre-filled in the selected volume and profile

IF THE SHELL BREAKS

The implant typically deflates as saline is absorbed

A rupture may be less obvious and is evaluated with appropriate imaging

Implants only- or lift with implants?

If the nipple sits at or below the breast fold, skin has stretched significantly, or adding volume alone would leave the breast low on the chest, a lift may be recommended. The lift addresses position; the implant addresses volume.

YOUR RECOVERY

Healing happens in stages.

Your exact plan and restrictions are individualized. Most patients experience tightness, swelling, and temporary activity limitations while the implants settle and the tissues relax.

DAYS 1-7

WEEKS 1-2

WEEKS 4-6

MONTH 2-3+

Rest and Protect

Return gradually

Increase activity

Watch the shape settle

Expect tightness, soreness, and swelling. Wear the recommended support garment and follow medication and incision-care instructions.

Many patients return to non-strenuous work as comfort allows. Walking is encouraged; lifting and upper-body strain remain limited.

Exercise and heavier activity are reintroduced only when Dr. Henry confirms your healing is ready.

Implants often sit high initially, then gradually soften and settle as swelling resolves and the tissues adapt.
